Feeling off? Let's talk.

Feeling off? Let's talk.

I don’t know if you know this about me, but I used to be a makeup artist, and I taught a lot of clients how to put on their makeup.

Before we would start, I would always ask them, how much time do you want to invest in this process?

5 minutes? 15? 30? Or all the time in the world to look their best?

And not that a 5-minute face didn’t look good (it did!), but it's not the full dance. We were sticking to the fundamental essentials. The step ball change of makeup applications.

A 5-minute face would be some tinted moisturizer, mascara and some gloss. They would look awake.

With a 15-minute face, we would do the same but add some concealer blush and curl their lashes (if applicable).

A 30-minute face was foundation, concealer, blush, mascara, lipstick and liner, and we finished it all off with a misting spray. On the surface, they looked rested, hydrated and present.

And then there’s the “I got all the time in the world” face. This is when we primed the skin with a skincare routine, followed by a full face of makeup.

But what does this have to do with your mindfulness practice?

Regardless of what they chose, there was a process that let them look and feel the way they wanted.

And so it is with life. We must decide what kind of practice we want to have based on what we want to achieve.

Meditating for 5 minutes a day-great! You'll be familiar with your breath and able to return to it when needed.

Meditating for 15 minutes a day will settle your nervous system and help with any anxiety.

Meditating for 30 minutes a day will connect you with your breath and your body. You'll become aware of how you're moving through the world.

Having a practice that you make time for and, more importantly, are obedient to is akin to making sure you're doing spiritual skincare before you do anything else.

That's showing up to your spiritual assignments, meaning when you have a choice to come from a place of fear or love, you choose love.

It may not always be easy. After all, even my die-hard clients would sometimes forget or be too tired to take off their makeup before going to bed. And from time to time, they would opt for more sleep and do a 5-minute face instead.

Before I go further, let me set something straight...

One is not better than the other. It's the not knowing where people get tripped up.

They want that full face in five minutes.

They want the life of someone who not only makes time for their practice, but is obedient to it, but they only do 5-minute practices (sometimes)

A peaceful life (one filled with love, health, prosperity and abundance!) doesn't happen with a 5-minute practice. And I don't say that to be harsh— you need to know that.

When I work with clients, THIS is where I see the hole in their spiritual boat (last metaphor, promise :), but once they KNOW,, they can choose — and they do!

I wanted to share this with you because I get you. I get why it's so hard for you to see the results you want.

We all have different goals and dreams of varying sizes, but they all require a specific spiritual strategy.

If you need help with (or starting) a practice that serves you and the kind of life you want to live, it would be my complete honour to work with you in my signature course B. R. E. A. T. H. E.

You stumble? I'll be there to lift you up. You explode? I soar alongside you. This is your time to shine. I have your back.
